Frequently Asked Questions
DOES IT HURT?
Japanese style Meridian Therapy is noted for its absolute comfort. If ever an acupoint is uncomfortable, you should tell the practitioner so they may adjust needle position or location to clear any discomfort.
IS IT SAFE?
Most practitioners are now using individually packaged, presterilized and disposable needles that are safely discarded after each treatment. Japanese Meridian Therapy
needles tend to be of a higher quality and thinner make, making insertion painless.
HOW MANY SESSIONS WILL I NEED?
Several factors will determine the number of treatments. These include age, lifestyle, state of general health and the severity of the disease stage. In some cases an
improvement may be seen after the first session, in others it may take several sessions. In a few cases the symptoms may get worse for 24 hours before they begin to improve.
Treatments are usually given once a week in blocks of 6 - 12 treatments depending on the cause and conditions. This will vary from several sessions for an acute condition, or up to 10 sessions for more chronic or degenerative diseases. Once the disorder is resolved and the body is in balance, short preventative sessions can be given as needed to maintain wellness.
